Over 10,000 athletes from more than 200 countries will converge on the French capital for the world’s premier sporting event: the Olympic Games (Los Juegos Olímpicos in Spanish).

The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26th to August 11th.

This marks the first time in 12 years that the Olympics are held in Europe. Uniquely, the opening ceremony will occur along Paris’ iconic River Seine instead of the traditional Olympic stadium setting.

These games promise to be extraordinary, featuring new urban sports like BMX, skateboarding, and breakdancing at Paris’ Place de la Concorde, beach volleyball by the Eiffel Tower, equestrian events at Versailles, and surfing competitions in distant Tahiti. Global stars such as pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, basketball player LeBron James, gymnast Simone Biles, marathon record-holder Eliud Kipchoge, and Spain’s own Rafa Nadal will participate in the Games.

So, where can you watch all 306 events across 32 sports if you're in Spain?

Luckily, TV coverage in Spain will be extensive.

Public broadcaster RTVE will provide 400 hours of live broadcasting of the Paris Olympics for free.

These broadcasts will be available on their channels La 1, La 2, and Teledeporte, all standard terrestrial TV channels in Spain.

For those without a television, you can stream the Olympics on your phone, laptop, or tablet through RTVE’s online platform RTVE Play, which is also free.

Eurosport will offer extensive coverage of the Games, but this is subscription-based and available on DAZN.

Additionally, you can watch competition highlights on Olympics.com, although there might be some territorial restrictions.
