Summer Continues
While northern Europe was braced for torrential rain and high winds as it was lashed by the tail end of Hurricane Lorenzo, the Spanish peninsular is set to enjoy altogether sunnier skies.
In Spain they call it a “veranillo de San Miguel” – when the warmer weather continues beyond the feast day of Saint Michael on September 29th.
This year, however we are already four days into October and across much of Spain at least, the sun is still shining and there is little chance of rain.
Spain’s meteorological agency said the warm weather would contine across most of central and southern Spain for another ten days at least.
Only Galicia, the region located in the typically damper northwestern corner of Spain and the northern coast stretching to the Pyrenees would see any amount of rain over the next week, predicted Aemet.
