The Ministry of Health has eliminated the obligation to present the covid passport and the traveler’s form to passengers who enter Spain by plane or by boat.
The suspension was entered into force on 22/09/2022 according to a resolution of the General Directorate of Public Health published on Monday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
At the Alicante-Elche airport, the elimination will mean a cut of up to half an hour in the movement of passengers arriving and leaving the Costa Blanca through the airport, a terminal in which, in addition, the volume of British passengers, who are already in community territory, represents 35% of the total number of passengers.
There is no longer a laboratory at the airport to test for Covid, whose contract has not been renewed. The airport has recovered, with 8.5 million passengers up until August, 85% of pre-pandemic traffic.
