VERY GOOD NEWS! If you want to live in Spain but need to continue working remotely for your company abroad, don’t worry, because Spain has already approved the “Startups Law” that will allow you to apply for the long-awaited “Nomad VISA”!
However, in general terms, we can say that it will be a VISA that gives a temporary residence in Spain for 3 years initially, being able to renew for 2 more years (on the fifth year you can already request the permanent residence).
• Applicants must not have had resident status in Spain in the last five years prior to their application.
• The existence of a real and continuous activity for at least one year of the company or group of companies with which the worker maintains a labor or professional relationship.
• Documentation proving that the employment or professional relationship can be carried out remotely.
• In the event of the existence of an employment relationship, the employment relationship must be proven, for at least the last three months.
• Have graduated from a prestigious university or business school; or demonstrate previous experience of at least 3 years
• Applicants must have a clean criminal record and not be previously prohibited from entering Spain.
• Applicants must have private health insurance coverage that is valid throughout Spain.
• Applicants must present proof of accommodation to accommodate their stay in Spain.
Among the most notable benefits of this type of residence is that, even becoming a Spanish resident, you can access to a special tax regime as a non-resident in Spain for a period of 5 years (instead of being taxed as a fiscal resident).
Of course, from SGM we will help you to get this residence, giving you the best advice and guiding you throughout the process, so do not hesitate to contact us at any time!
